Hi again Sarahq,
The Australian administrator's report (now offline but I'm happy to email a copy) gave as one of the reasons for Dore Australia closing:
"The company did not vigoursly enforce its policy that clients only received eight clinical treatments, thus reducing the capacity of clinics to service more clients." (Page 7).
From what I have heard on the forums, it sounds as though [old] Dore UK had a similar policy, and that they are now enforcing it for those who are being treated by the new company set up when Wynford brought Dore UK's assets (but not its liabilities) back from the administrators, for £50 000. Wynford personally owned copyright to the exercises, so it would have been impossible for anyone to buy the assets from the administrators & continue Dore without Wynford's approval.
Current situation is that the money you paid & the contract you had with Dore is gone, because the company no longer exists, and so there isn't anything there to owe you either a refund or treatment (unless you followed earlier suggestions about credit card companies, citizen's advice, etc - more info on my blog). 'New' Dore UK is legally a completely different company (though still owned by Wynford), and you don't have a contract with them so they don't have to do anything at all for you. What's left of any money you paid has all gone to the administrators and Wynford personally (as secured creditors), not to paying for future treatments.
Anyway, it's all a bit complicated and I don't speak much financial-ese, you can read the full UK administrator's report for yourself here & please do correct anything I'm getting wrong: http://media.dorecentres.com/PDF/DDAT_Limited_Administrator_Report_and_Proposals.pdf
Again, though it may now be too late, I'd encourage you to seek a refund if there's a way you can, via credit cards / finance / anything else, I've put as much as I know about how to do so on my blog under 'what to do next'. Doing this won't have (and never would have) any affect on the viability of either 'old' or 'new' Dore UK, & you may have a better chance if you apply soon. Since 'New' Dore UK doesn't have a contract with you and isn't getting your money anyway, I'd be very surprised if this affects any further treatment they might choose to provide.
Hope that makes things clearer - again, I'm not an expert & I'd encourage you to read the full documents for yourself.
