Hi, just wanted to say hello. Matthew is going to Kenilworth for his first assessment on Friday.
Mat has various issues at school, fine motor, gross motor skill problems - diagnosed with hypermobile joints. hates writing, starting to like reading. He is about average I believe for P3 but his concentration are poor. Mat has been referred to Ed Pschology and has a IEP being drafted. could be a year before he is seen and his teacher would like some more one to one help for him. ADHD has been mentioned by a few people, Beaver leader/swimming teacher, school are hinting at that as well. He doesn't like change and I have to force him to take part in Beavers etc. once he is out of the house he is happy enough. Never stops taking, forgetful and when TV is on he is in another world.
I couldn't find anywhere in Scotland to get a private assessment and was concerned that they would end up giving him meds which I am against, he is not badly behaved.
Looking forward to the assessment but I don't know if they tell me what is wrong or whether it will just be the chart results ? and not sure how I'm going to get him to do any exercises that the may put together for him.
Is there any questions I should ask at Dore. this is all new to me. I seem to find more pro's than con's for the programme so I have to give him the best possible chance in life, I'm lucky that I can afford to do it as there is nothing else available. I think my doctor thought I was mad when I mentioned the programme - he couldn't see how it could help
thanks for listening, I only intended writing a few lines
