Hi Everyone and Dr Roy
It has been a while since I last posted, as my son has been doing so great.
Pre Dore he had dramas with writing, attention, coordination
He finished Dore 2 years ago and is nearly 11 years old now.
He has had great improvements all round particularly his hand writing. And he loves school and Loves to Read.
His Spelling is still really bad though.
Anyway 5 weeks ago things started to change for him, he says life is too hard, finds it hard to get dressed, has trouble reading, and writing,
does not wont to go to school, feels easily pressured and very sad. The same things that happened to him on/off during the DORE programme.
His teacher says he is not being bullied and has good friends and that he seems just fine at school.
He also says he is not being Bullied and that he just doesn't feel right. and that going to school is too hard.
It appears to me like biological depression and not caused by anything in his life, he has always been a very optimistic boy and always trys his best even when struggling.
I have made an appointment to see a peadiatrician but was wondered what other Post Dore people think before we go.
If he is going through a regression stage and his cerrebellum is actually rewiring do you think that medication (anti-depressants) will effect the re-wiring that may be happening?
Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading
